Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri is an Indian actress who achieved notoriety for her roles in the film Hum Aapke Hin Koun as well as Beta Saajan. She began her career in the 80s before coming to popularity with her role in the movie Tezaab. In it, she was a part of the cast alongside veteran actor Anil Kapoor. In her next film Dil, Aamir Khan appeared along with her. Born into a middle-class family in Mumbai she was able to learn dance at an early age. She began acting when she was young and struggled through a few years as most the films she made had a bad reputation. She eventually found success and became one of the top actors in the Indian film industry. After marriage, she had a career break before returning to entertainment. She recently was a key player in Gulaab Gang about Indian women. Dixit has been nominated for an additional fifteen Filmfare Awards, out of which she took home eight. Dixit was also awarded the Padma Shri the fourth highest civilian distinction in India. Her work in the field of social service is very well-known.
